The Catskills Curated Story

In 2019, we opened our doors with a single goal — to showcase the fantastic products made by makers, artisans, and small businesses in the Catskills and the surrounding area. 

Our mission was to create a space where customers could discover unique, high-quality products while supporting local artisans and makers.

And so Catskills Curated was born. 

We started with about ten local vendors in a modest space inspired by our local farmers' market. Quickly realizing that the artisans we met were struggling to sell their products and needed a permanent home where they could showcase their goods without the need to be present around the clock.

We gave these talented makers a platform to showcase their work and connect with customers who appreciate the value of handmade, locally sourced products.

Since then, our once-small store has grown into an ample retail space featuring products from over 90 local artisans, makers, artists, and craftsmen. 

We're proud to offer a curated selection of products that are not only beautiful and unique but also sustainable and eco-friendly.

Why We Love Our Makers

There is no shortage of makers in this region. 

But, truth be told, many do not have their own retail locations. And before we get the pleasure of working with them, many sell their items only at events like craft shows and farmers' markets. 

This can make it challenging to make a living from their amazing work, and it limits the number of people who benefit from buying from them. 

Our mission is to bring their products to new audiences and make shopping locally with them easier for their customers.

When we work with our vendors, they share their stories of the products they make, the methods they use, and the care that goes into everything they create. 

The experience of getting to know our passionate, dedicated vendors in turn gives us a passion to sell their unique products. 

So, we foster great relationships with all of our vendors. This relationship includes taking the time to develop our knowledge of each vendor’s products and what sets them apart.

We also love to visit their work sites to see their efforts firsthand. We learn so much and bring that knowledge back to our storefront, where we share it with you as part of your one-of-a-kind shopping experience.

Our collaboration with our vendors is both humbling and inspiring — it also makes us all the more confident than ever that Catskills Curated is changing how people buy locally in our region… one purchase at a time.
